7th April 2007 Mt. Biking: Mach-something! Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: I met up with other members of mountain bike club that were staying up at Mach. Fifteen of us set off on the Mach 3 trail some really good views on this trail and some fabulous weather to really top things off. After the long up and down section of fire road in the middle we split into three groups as trying to keep all of us together was a nightmare (some of us had a 45min wait at the big climb in the middle) I tagged on the end of the quick boys and before we knew it we were at the top of the "chute" Loose rocks, ruts, boulders and very steep the chute had it all. We all made it down in one piece (just) with big grins and the smell of burning brakes (least I think thats what the smell was). A few more ups and downs across a ford a road decent and climb then back down to Mach for a late lunch. A realy good ride although would of liked a bit more technical stuff |
